I write short stories and novels.

My fiction flows from experiences and obsessions, travels and faith. Writing is a way of digesting, a form of worship, and an expression of curiosity and humour.

Currently, I am curious about creativity, travel, babyhood, language, family, desire, childhood, the spiritual and the material…

I was born in Athens, grew up in Birkenhead and arrived at my current home of Durham via Montaigu, Edinburgh, Bologna, Oxford, Paris, Boston and Lausanne.

As well as being a writer, I am a mother, linguist and debt adviser.

I also run a writing group for Christian writers.

Before I started making things up, I wrote an academic monograph called Interpersonal Encounters in Contemporary Travel Writing: French and Italian Perspectives (Anthem Press, 2014).
